Marketing Overview & Accomplishments

On June 1, 2000 the Pease Development Authority (PDA) celebrated its 10 year anniversary. Many landmark changes have occurred at the Tradeport since the New Hampshire State Legislature empowered the PDA to develop the former air force base. The United States Department of Defense continually cites Pease as the "model" for successful base closure and reuse. Envisioned to be the economic engine of the Greater Seacoast area, the Pease International Tradeport & Pease International Airport continues to evolve into a world class office, research and development industrial / aviation park.

In July 2001 the Governor of New Hampshire signed House Bill 543, which assigned the Port of New Hampshire unto the Pease Development Authority Division of Ports and Harbors.  Under the Pease Development Authority the Port will continue as a working port to serve the need of New Hampshire companies.

Accomplishments to date include:

218 companies located at the
Pease International Tradeport

In excess of 3,800,000 square feet of new, or
newly renovated space

Creation of 5,200 jobs, with additional commitments
to bring total to 7,500+ jobs

Three separate projects totaling 124,000 square feet of new construction underway in 2004/2005.  Additionally another 285,000 +/- square feet of space proposed by Lonza.

Recent / Ongoing Projects:

Lonza Biologics: Completed a 208 million dollar expansion to their existing building bringing their total square footage to 350,000 and approximately 400 employees.  Lonza has also proposed a 200 million dollar further expansion of up to an additional 285,000 square feet contingent upon receiving anticipated manufacturing contracts.

International Marketplace at Pease:  Construction is  complete for the new 41,000 square foot retail and professional services building located at Manchester Square.    Tradeport employees are now able to do one stop shopping for: dry cleaning, barbershop, banking, dentist, food court and a convenience store.

100 International Drive:  Construction is complete for a new 60,000 square foot three story multi tenant office building.

Southern New Hampshire University:  A 24,000 square foot two story building has been completed.  The facility is the new home to Southern New Hampshire University who will occupy approximately 18,000 square feet.

Foreign Trade Zone Status:

The Pease International Tradeport has been designated a Foreign-Trade Zone by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Companies who utilize the Foreign Trade Zone can defer, reduce or eliminate the customs duties typically paid at the time product is received into the U.S. market. Located two miles from the Port of New Hampshire, with immediate access to Interstate 95 and the Spaulding Turnpike, and combined with an international airport offering "just-in-time" cargo facilities and U.S. Customs on-site, the Pease International Tradeport location provides access to an excellent transportation system, crucial to import/export activities.
