4/28/06 - Collegiate Club Golf Association and Pease Golf Course Team for Inaugural Tournament
Eleven Regional Colleges Swing into Action for a Premier Competition May 1

Portsmouth, NH - The Collegiate Club Golf Association (CCGA) is teeing off the season with an Inaugural Tournament Monday, May 1, at Pease Golf Course with the University of New Hampshire (UNH) as the host.

"There are currently eleven colleges and university students participating in the event: UNH, University of Maine, University of Vermont, Gordon College, Northeastern, Worcester Poly Tech, Clark University, Colby Sawyer, Providence College, Bunker Hill Community College and University of Massachusetts," states Sid White, Chair of CCGA. "We anticipate hosting ten teams, which is an excellent start for the first year."

"We are thrilled that UNH has chosen to host their Inaugural event at Pease International Golf Course," states Scott DeVito, PGA Professional at Pease Golf Course. "Our convenient location and 27-hole course offer an unparalleled golfing experience for beginners and experts alike, making this an ideal setting for the event."

The CCGA is comprised of universities that do not offer golf as a varsity sport. All participating teams are raising funds to support their involvement in the association. CCGA hopes to expand the association to the national level within five years.
