Welcome to the Pease International Airport Environmental Page.
With the addition of the Environmental Initiatives page to the Pease
Development Authority website, we hope to more effectively inform local
communities about the noise environment, what has been done and is being
done to reduce noise, and the future impacts of noise with respect to
airport growth.
The PDA Board of Directors
has created the
Airport/Community Interests Committee to more effectively resolve
community concerns.
The PDA has installed a ground power unit
(GPU) and a preconditioned air unit (PCA) to the existing terminal
passenger boarding bridge. This change gives the aircraft at the
boarding bridge the capability of plugging in the unit to minimize the
use of louder auxiliary power units (APU's) at the terminal.
A berm has also been constructed to provide noise
reduction from ground maintenance operations.
The Pease Airport Residential Sound
Insulation Program (RSIP) is currently ongoing. This program is an
airport administrated, FAA funded program that decreases the noise
inside qualifying homes by 5db. Homes that currently qualify are on
the streets listed below. It is important to note that homes can be
on one of these streets and not qualify. If you do not own a home on
one of these streets, you do not qualify for sound insulation. If you
own a home on any of these streets and would like to know if you
qualify, please contact Amber Goodspeed at 433-6536.

Comments, complaints and concerns can be left on this recorded line (or
fill out our online Noise Complaint Form) and
Amber Goodspeed, the Community Liaison, will return the call with
information on the particular occurrence. A monthly log of all calls is
kept and posted on the website as well as forwarded to the users of the
airport and the FAA.
The Noise Compatibility Committee (NCC) meets
quarterly to discuss the Pease Noise Compatibility Program. This
committee is comprised of representatives from each of the communities
surrounding Pease as well as airport tenants. The meetings are open to
the public and the minutes to these meetings are also available at this
site. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. in the PDA Board Room, 360 Corporate Drive, Portsmouth, NH.
The recorded line for transient aircraft activity
is (603) 433-0032. A recording of the day's current scheduled transient
practice approach activity is listed on this line. Please keep in mind
that the line does not include local aircraft practice approaches and
that the transient practice approach activity may change with little or
no notice.
